Why it Works: Lara Stone

Between her gap-toothed smile, trademark off-kilter runway strut, and British comedian husband (David Walliams), Dutch supermodel Lara Stone feels almost approachable. Like, someone you met on a foreign exchange program, who just so happens to routinely draw comparisons to Brigitte Bardot.

Spotted on her way back from a Primrose Hill supermarket, however, the supe underlines her anything-but-averageness with a catwoman-goes-business casual “around town” uniform.

The Bag: A Birkin, clearly. It’s not the newest, hottest, this-season bag, mind you. It’s a classic. A premium commodity that is both timeless and wonderfully, hopelessly expensive. The accessory sends a clear message: “I’m not a 16-year-old fresh face with masterful orthodontic work, and yes, a huge segment of the population continues to lust after me.” The tote’s iconic Hermès shade offers a luxe counterpoint to the monochrome uniform.

The Blazer: A minimal, flawlessly fitted black number, Stone’s blazer smartens up her rock-leaning ensemble. In it, we believe she is the woman from the Cake song: the one who is touring the facility and picking up slack, or using a machete to cut through red tape. Though, thinking about it, she may have to take off the blazer to wield a machete.

The Leggings: A stretchy leathery incarnation that should by no means be attempted by mere mortals. Stone manages to make them appear casual: Oh these? I just threw them on with my black strappy flats. Please remember, friends, there is nothing casual about stretchy leather.πηγή: stylebistro
